How quality drives everything at Rustons

At Rustons we are committed to supplying quality products to our customers. We offer competitive services that represent value for money, fully meet our customer's needs and which conform to all legislative and regulatory requirements.

We believe that quality is fundamental to the running of the business. We know the business has many different parts – all of which need to operate well for the business to succeed in providing excellent service to our customers. Quality is the foundation on which all these processes are built.

We implement this via our management system which operates in accordance with ISO 9001: 2000 and incorporates ANSI/IPC workmanship standards.

Our business improvement initiative incorporates lean manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen and team working programmes.

We are committed to integrating a complete environmental management system throughout all of our processes. Part of this is our ability to aid our customers to comply with the latest legislative requirements such as RoHS and WEEE. Our lead-free capability is just one element of this.

We are actively involved with the SC21 supply chain improvement programme which is leading us towards AS9100 (aerospace) and ISO 13485 (medical) standards.

We utilise “smart” Key performance Indications (KPIs) to help measure and improve the business performance. These are designed to be:

By focusing on a small number of broader KPIs we are able to cover all the key processes and avoid the risk of focusing on just one or two areas to the detriment of other key parts. All these are designed to overall improve the product and service we provide for our customers.

UL Listed products

We manufacture specific 'UL Listed' products for a number of our clients. This is a formally audited procedure that allows products to be sold into north America (USA and Canada). We alos help customers get UL approval for their products.
