Our environmental commitment to electronics manufacturing

 

We recognise that the manufacturing industry has to change if it is to contribute to protecting the environment. We believe we are leading the field in UK manufacturing in this area.

Our initiatives include:

• Investing in a new energy-efficient building
• Using low energy lighting
• Recycling heat from the manufacturing process to heat the rest of the building
• Using lead free solder where possible

As part of our commitment to the environment we are heavily involved in the waste management reduction exercise. Under this we recognise our obligations to managing the waste generated in our business. We are also responsible for products designs from our customers that we then modify.

All of these are contributing to our active environmental programme to obtain registration to ISO14000; formally known as the “Guide to Environmental Management Principles, Systems and Supporting Techniques”.

We are also members of the TaGPack packaging compliance scheme. This is an Environment Agency approved scheme to help us meet our obligations under the Packaging Waste Regulations. See the TaGPack web site for more details.
